Electrification is probably humanity’s biggest energy shift since the industrial revolution. With a world expected to gulp down 610 quadrillion (610,000,000,000,000,000) Btu, this transition is going to take many decades. But why is this happening and why does it make sense in terms of sustainability?
People will tend to like something because of what they believe in and how they see the world. Peoples perspectives and beliefs are driven by their consumption of information available to them. This information leads to them assigning a greater probability towards those beliefs being true, irrespective of “rationale” behaviours.
The engineering and construction (E&C) industry is big business. It is estimated to account for 6% of global GDP with revenues of $10 trillion annually and it employs more than 100 million people (World Economic Forum, 2016).
